Privacy Policy
This website is a work index. It has no user accounts, no contact form, no newsletter and no comments. The only data collected is what any website receives when a page is requested, plus analytics that cannot recognise an individual. None of it is used for advertising, sold, or passed to anyone not named here.

- Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. in the United States. When a page is requested, Vercel processes the access data that arises technically, as a processor on my behalf: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, the referring page, browser type and operating system. This is necessary to serve the site and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in secure and stable operation.
- Cookies and local storage
This website sets one cookie. NEXT_LOCALE stores the language you chose, German or English. It is a session cookie, deleted when you close the browser, and holds no identifier that could recognise a person. Your browser also stores, under the key theme, whether the site should be shown light or dark. That value never leaves your device and is never sent to the server. Both serve a function you asked for yourself and are technically necessary within the meaning of § 165 (3) TKG 2021. No consent is required for them, which is why there is no cookie banner here. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Analytics
Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights measure traffic and loading times. Both work without cookies and without recognising you across devices. They record the pages requested, the referring page, approximate origin at country level, device type and loading times. Your IP address is processed but not stored: it is turned into a checksum that changes daily, in order to count visits. Individual people cannot be identified from it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in understanding use of the site with as little data as possible.
- Getting in touch
There is no contact form. The contact button opens the email program on your device, so your message does not travel through this website. An email you send me is processed only to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual enquiries, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Links to other websites
The work index links to clients' websites, and the About page links to LinkedIn. Their operators are responsible for those sites' content and privacy practices. No data is sent to them unless you click the link.
- Transfers to the United States
Vercel Inc. is based in the United States, so data may be transferred to a third country. The transfer relies on the adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, in addition, on standard contractual clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.
- How long data is kept
Server logs are deleted automatically after a short period. Analytics data exists only in aggregate, with no link to a person. Email correspondence is kept for as long as handling it requires, and beyond that only where a statutory retention period applies.
- Your rights
You have the right to access the data held about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21). An informal email to j@studiokubko.com is enough.
- Right to complain
